Warhaus, the project of Belgian singer-songwriter Maarten Devoldere, has today announced details of his fifth studio album, The Donkey,

Devoldere was at home with his girlfriend and the dog, happy, calm, and super zen. Nothing but peace and quiet in his life. But apparently, an overdose of peace of mind can be dangerous too; that’s how much energy came pouring out when he started making music. The filter was gone, the anesthetic had worn off, and suddenly he wanted something else. Something rawer, something more real, perhaps? For years, he had churned out one dandyish pop song after another, each more superior than the last, with almost insulting ease. What if he threw those golden melodies out the window and went looking for the primal urges lurking inside his chest?

Though he hasn’t released new music in almost two years, Warhaus has remained very active. Following the release of Karaoke Moon, he spent much of 2025 on the road, playing more than 50 shows across Europe and the UK, including performances at some of the continent’s most renowned venues and festivals.

Earlier this year, he took a different approach, touring a series of intimate shows alongside acclaimed classical pianist Julien Libeer. The performances saw the pair reimagining Warhaus’ best-known songs in stripped-back arrangements, alongside previously unreleased material.

With ‘The Baby’, Warhaus now begins the next phase of his musical journey, one that promises to explore new territory while retaining the singular songwriting and atmosphere that have defined his work to date.
